Title
Lithuanian company seeks partners developing navigation technologies for drones operating in GPS-denied environments
Abstract
A Lithuanian company specialising in the design and manufacturing of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including fixed-wing jet-powered platforms and FPV drones, is looking for partners capable of developing or providing a navigation solution that enables reliable autonomous flight in GPS-denied environments.
The company focuses on long-range and high-speed unmanned aircraft used for both civil and security applications. In certain operational scenarios, such as urban areas, mountainous terrain or military missions, the loss or disruption of GPS signals significantly limits the aircraft s autonomy and mission performance. Therefore, the company is seeking innovative navigation technology or know-how that would allow its aircraft to maintain stable positioning, orientation, and route tracking without dependency on GNSS.
The requested technology may include (but is not limited to) sensor-based, visual, or other non-GNSS navigation methods that ensure real-time situational awareness and flight stability. The solution should be integrable into existing flight control systems and compatible with both fixed-wing and multirotor UAV architectures.
The company is interested in a technology partnership or joint development agreement to adapt, test, and integrate such a solution within its current UAV platforms. The cooperation is sought with technology providers, R and D organisations, or academic institutions experienced in autonomous navigation, AI perception, or sensor fusion systems.
Through this collaboration, the Lithuanian company aims to accelerate the development of autonomous drone capabilities and strengthen its international partnerships in the field of advanced aerial technologies.
Advantages and innovation
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
The partner should have proven expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Development of autonomous navigation systems for UAVs or other mobile platforms operating without GNSS signals.
• Experience with sensor fusion technologies combining data from IMU, barometer, magnetometer, camera, radar or LiDAR sensors for precise positioning.
• Knowledge of visual odometry, terrain mapping, or inertial navigation algorithms applicable to fixed-wing aircraft.
• Capability to design or adapt software for real-time flight control and path estimation under GPS-denied conditions.
• Familiarity with UAV hardware integration, including communication interfaces (UART, CAN, MAVLink) and embedded computing boards.
• Prior participation in applied R and D or prototype development for autonomous or AI-assisted flight systems will be considered an advantage.
The expected outcome is a robust and lightweight solution that can be integrated into existing UAV architectures and tested in real operational scenarios in cooperation with the Lithuanian company s engineering team.
