Búsqueda de socios Ref: RDRGR20260108010

Descripción

An already established consortium is preparing a proposal under the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) Strand 1 call, focusing on strengthening the capacity of textile universities in Bangladesh to support the transition toward circular and sustainable textile ecosystems. The consortium is seeking one Higher Education Institution from an ERASMUS+ Programme Country or Associated Country with expertise in textiles and/or circular economy to act as project coordinator.

Title

An established consortium is looking for a European Higher Education Institution to lead an ERASMUS+ CBHE proposal on developing innovation environments for circular ecosystems in textile universities in Bangladesh.

Abstract

The proposed initiative addresses the urgent need to strengthen the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Bangladesh in supporting the transition of the textile and apparel sector toward circular and sustainable production models. The project aims to establish a National Innovation Environment for Circular Ecosystems within textile universities in Bangladesh, strengthening their capacity in education, research, and policy engagement related to circular textiles. Key areas of intervention include academic staff training on circularity policies, development of XR-based learning modules focusing on waste management and waste valorization, integration of circular economy topics into curricula, and the establishment of innovation environments that promote multi-stakeholder cooperation among academia, industry, government, and civil society.

The initiative also places emphasis on social inclusion and community engagement, aiming to enhance institutional capacity to design and implement circular economy strategies that consider marginalized communities within the textile value chain. Through structured training activities, curriculum integration, and applied cooperation projects, the project seeks to deliver sustainable institutional change and long-term impact.

The consortium currently brings together a combination of academic institutions and non-academic stakeholders from Europe and Bangladesh, ensuring strong relevance to both higher education and the textile industry. It includes Higher Education Institutions from Bangladesh with a strong focus on textile engineering, fashion technology, and applied research, alongside industry and market actors representing innovation, intelligent textile products, and sectoral coordination. These partners provide direct links to the textile and apparel industry, policy stakeholders, and practical implementation environments. In addition, the consortium includes partners from EU Programme Countries with experience in vocational education, applied sciences, innovation support, and industry cooperation.

To strengthen academic leadership and ensure effective coordination in line with ERASMUS+ CBHE requirements, the consortium is seeking a Higher Education Institution from an ERASMUS+ Programme Country or Associated Country with demonstrated expertise in textiles and/or circular economy to act as Lead Partner and Coordinator. The involvement of a European coordinating HEI will support academic coherence, quality assurance, and the effective management of the capacity-building activities foreseen in the project.
Advantages and innovation
The project adopts a comprehensive capacity-building approach that combines institutional strengthening, curriculum development, staff training, and innovation infrastructure development in the field of circular textiles. Innovation lies in the establishment of a national-level innovation environment for circular ecosystems within textile universities, the integration of XR-based learning modules for advanced technical training, and the structured engagement of academia with industry, policymakers, and civil society. The project supports sustainability by institutionalizing the innovation environment within partner universities and fostering long-term cooperation beyond the project duration.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
The consortium is seeking one Higher Education Institution from an ERASMUS+ Programme Country or Associated Country to act as Lead Partner and Coordinator of the proposal. The sought institution should demonstrate:
• Proven experience in coordinating or participating in ERASMUS+ CBHE or similar international capacity-building projects.
• Academic expertise in areas such as circular economy and sustainable production systems, textile engineering, textile technologies, sustainable textiles or other relevant fields.
• Institutional capacity to support project coordination, academic leadership, and quality assurance.

In line with ERASMUS+ rules, the Lead Partner should note that a coordinating institution may not submit more than two CBHE proposals as Lead Partner in the same call.
