Descripción
A basque deep-tech startup is seeking partners to join a Horizon Europe EU-RAIL flagship project focused on improving air quality, health and comfort in rail systems. The project aims to integrate advanced environmental sensing and AI-based analytics into trains and stations to enable real-time monitoring, predictive risk detection and smarter HVAC and ventilation management, supporting safer, healthier and more resilient rail transport across Europe
Title
Partner search for Horizon Europe EU-RAIL project about air quality and health monitoring in rail systems
Abstract
The company is a deep-tech startup developing advanced environmental sensing and artificial intelligence solutions for real-time monitoring, predictive analytics and decision support in complex operational environments. The company combines proprietary multi-sensor hardware (AGO micro-stations) with its AI platform AURA to transform heterogeneous environmental data into actionable intelligence, supporting health, safety, efficiency and sustainability objectives. Company’s technologies are currently applied in agro-industrial and livestock contexts, with proven capabilities in monitoring air quality, gas emissions, temperature, humidity and environmental risks under real operational conditions.
The basque company is interested in participating in the EU-RAIL Joint Undertaking Call Proposals 2025-02 (HORIZON-JU-ER-2025-02), and is currently seeking partners to join or integrate into a consortium addressing this call. The official deadline for the call is 11th February 2026.
The project concept focuses on the “Healthier and safer rail system” destination, in particular on solutions for improving air quality in trains, stations and tunnels. The project would aim to research, develop and demonstrate advanced environmental monitoring and AI-based decision-support systems to enhance indoor air quality, thermal comfort and health conditions in rail environments. Potential developments include the integration of multi-parametric sensoring (e.g. CO2, VOCs, particulate matter, temperature, humidity and airflow), edge and cloud analytics, and predictive models to anticipate sanitary risks, optimize ventilation strategies and support operational decisions in rolling stock and railway infrastructures.
Within the project, the basque company would contribute its expertise in sensor systems, real-time data acquisition, AI-driven predictive modelling, anomaly detection and environmental intelligence. The company aims to support European-deployable solutions for healthier and more resilient rail systems.
The company is seeking to collaborate with rail operators, rolling stock manufacturers, infrastructure managers, HVAC system providers, engineering companies, research organisations and universities already active in rail R and D projects. Desired partners should have expertise in rail systems, rolling stock interiors, ventilation and HVAC, health and safety, system integration, large-scale demonstrations and validation in real operational environments. The company is open to joining an existing consortium or co-shaping a proposal with partners based in Europe, contributing as a technology provider focused on environmental monitoring, AI analytics and decision-support components.
