A Spanish technology centre is preparing a proposal for the HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D4-06 and looks for an industrial partner. The proposal aims to integrate renewable energy sources with optimisation of energy process efficiency and digitalisation to achieve the complete phase out of fossil fuels in two energy-intensive industrial sectors (pulp and paper and beer production). A Spanish technology centre with a wide expertise in European projects is preparing a proposal that aims to phase out fossil fuel in energy intensive industries through the efficient integration of renewable energy sources. The project is intended to integrate technology development, process digitalization and implementation in two demo sites by integrating: Renewables integration/combination Energy efficiency optimisation and reuse (heating, cooling, power) Upgrading of excess of heat Flexibility and Energy storage Integration with neighbouring industries and/or communities Low GHG and other pollutant emissions Physical and cyber security Technology development and demonstration Scale up to phase out fossil fuels (Digitalisation. The proposal will be submitted to the Horizon Europe call: HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D4-06, due on 17 February 2026. The technology centre is looking for at least one industrial partner (SME or large company) established and located in Europe. The role of the industrial partner(s) might be: i) Heat pump manufacturer (180ºC). We have a natural gas boiler that generates steam (180ºC and 7 bar) and we need heat pumps to supply the flow at 180 ºC to avoid natural gas. ii) Heat pump manufacturer (70ºC-110ºC). Air needs to be preheated to 70ºC-110ºC. iii) Wind power consultancy able to carry out a Feasibility / Technoeconomic study covering all steps before pre-commisioning. Deadline for expressions of interest is on 21st December 2025. Advantages and innovation Technical Specification or Expertise Sought The interested companies should be located in UE – preferable outside Spain. They might have expertise in Pulp and paper sector as well as beer production they should also have expertise in heat pumps.
